TO ORDER A CUSTOM D.E.WILLIAMS GUITAR : (edited 10/12/08 for clarity and content.)

Please call me or email me at sales@dewguitars.com for a quote.
We'll talk about what you want, and plan together how to make it happen.
Once your guitar and accessories are decided upon, send a check for a $500 non-refundable deposit.
This holds your place in line and on my build priority list. It is my commitment to you, as well as your commitment to me.
From there, the payments will be split into three parts:
- 1/3 of the balance is due when the instrument is completed to "in the white", meaning that it is done, but without the lacquer finish.
- The final balance is due once all work is completed, prior to my shipping or delivering the instrument.

At this point, any shipping charges must also be pre-paid if applicable.
Delivery time varies; the wait is approximately 9-12 months. Maybe less depending on my schedule and backlog.
Once the final payment has been made, I will ship the instrument out via Insured methods.
Pickups are subject to 7% Rhode Island sales tax.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED !

For custom orders:
If you are not satisfied, all of your money excluding the deposit will be refunded.
However, I reserve the right to withhold more based on the following criteria:
If I did something particularly "custom" for which nobody else would desire on the guitar
rendering the labor and materials lost, then I will retain what I feel will be a fair amount based on those criteria.
Or, if any damage was done to instrument that would prohibit it being sold to someone else.

For Inventory purchases:

All of your money will be refunded to you (excluding shipping costs), unless damage is done to the instrument, then I will assess a fee based on repair costs.

WARRANTY :

I warranty my products for all manufacturing defects for the life of my building career,
which should be (hopefully!) for my lifetime, to the original owner.
Any problems associated with any manufacturing defects will be taken care of by me or a luthier of my choosing if more local to you.
I do not warranty tropical hardwoods such as Brazilian Rosewood, Ziricote, and to some degree, Cocobolo against cracking.
These woods, and some others are highly prone to cracking, and is beyond the scope of my ability (or anyone else's) to prevent.
That said, I attempt to carefully choose the best quality woods for my instruments, and make sure they are well dried and acclimated to my shop
before they are used.
Shipping charges for non-warranty repairs remain the responsibility of the owner, unless I deem otherwise based on the issue.
If it is a manufacturing defect, I will pay the shipping.
I am not responsible for damage due to neglect or accident, including failure to keep the instrument stored in its case
when not in use, or failure to keep instrument properly humidified.
